BIG WWE Title CHANGE! NXT Star DEBUTS! | WWE Raw, Apr. 16, 2018 Review

A title change! Superstars are shaken up! Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn get their jobs back! And order your copy of WWE’s latest single
‘Raw & SmackDown Combine Forces To Bring You The Best Of Both Brands’ – catchy name
– from absolutely no record stores now. I’m Oli Davis, click the ‘i’ above my
head to vote for what you thought of the show – where you can choose from In Awe, Cor, AVRAWGE,
Poor and Bore – as I review the Superstar Shake-Up Raw …in about 4 minutes. Jeff Hardy beat Jinder Mahal
Raw’s first new acquisition was United States Champion Jinder Mahal, who immediately started
demanding limos and other expensive heelish things from Kurt Angle. Kurt asked Sunil Singh to send all the requests
to his email address: [email protected] It’s bouncing back, Kurt. Angle then booked Jinder in an impromptu US
title defence which was answered and then won by Jeff Hardy in a decent TV match
This doesn’t necessarily mean Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins is on his way to SmackDown,
though, as the US title could be traded back there with Jeff tonight, and Seth’s t-shirt
does say ‘Monday Night Rollins’… unless they make SmackDown the land of ‘ooooh Kingslayer’. Jinder demanded his rematch at Greatest Royal
Rumble afterwards, but was interrupted by No Way Jose’s weird sex party. Sasha Banks vs Bayley
Even Bayley wearing a bib down to the ring wasn’t enough to make me care about the
latest meaningless chapter in her feud with Sasha Banks. Which is a shame, as they had an OK match,
that ended in a no contest when Absolution-I mean the Riott Squad attacked. Authors of Pain beat Heath Slater & Rhyno
Sadly, having words appear on screen didn’t get drafted to an eternity in Hell. Michael Cole confirmed the Authors of Pain
have dumped their longtime NXT manager Paul Ellering, who then went onto squash Heath
Slater and Rhyno in a quick bout. Miz TV: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn
Miz’s huge announcement was welcoming Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to Raw! Kurt tried to protest, but despite starting
every one of his segments by looking at his phone, he hadn’t seen the email: Stephanie
McMahon had overruled him and given Sami and KO Raw contracts. In retaliation, Kurt split up the Miztourage,
drafting Miz alone to SmackDown where Daniel Bryan will be waiting for him. Sami, KO, and the Miztourage vs Rollins, Bobby
Lashley, Finn Balor, Braun Strowman and a mystery debuting star was booked for the main
event I don’t know about you, but that looks like
Vacant will be debuting to me! Woken Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt beat The Revival
But Vacant, of course, will first be defending their Raw Tag Team Titles against The Bar
and Woken Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt, the latter of whom beat the Revival to win the Tag Team
Eliminator. Tournament…it’s a tournament. Ember Moon beat Mickie James
Ember Moon then had a convincing win over veteran Mickie James, with Nia Jax calling
out Alexa Bliss again on commentary. Mickie is really good in her current utility
player role. Dolph Ziggler To Raw, Drew McIntyre Redebuts! Next drafted to Raw was Dolph Ziggler, still
complete with unnecessary record scratch entrance music. Immediately cementing himself at a certain
level, Titus Worldwide then invited Dolph Ziggler to join their group. But Ziggler hadn’t come alone, revealing
a debuting/returning/redebuti-I don’t know what he’s doing Drew McIntyre to beat everyone
up. Drew back on the main roster is a welcome
sight, but pairing him with a cooled off Ziggler is a strange choice. Roman Reigns & Samoa Joe
Roman Reigns is still complaining about Brock Lesnar, and Samoa Joe is still owning him
on the microphone. Ever since losing at WrestleMania, Reigns
has felt quite mid-cardish. Natalya beat Mandy Rose
Natalya has been drafted to Raw as a babyface! …or has she? Her big embrace backstage with Ronda Rousey
was a little too friendly for my cynicism, and she seemed a tad annoyed when Ronda – someone
she helped train – save her from a Riott Squad-I mean Absolution beat down. I’m predicting Natalya is Ronda’s next
feud. Baron Corbin To Raw
Baron Corbin’s going to Raw! So they really have just switched the undercards. Breezeango beat The Bar
After serving them fashion tickets backstage earlier, Breezeango managed a sneaky roll
up win over the Bar. Hopefully this means a moderate push for the
Fashion Police. Elias Backstage
Elias then called Renee Young ‘Rachel’ and said he doesn’t play small dinky towns
like. Seth Rollins, Finn Bluer, Braun Strowman,
Bobby Lashley & Bobby Lashley beat Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Miz & Miztourage
Bobby Roode was revealed as the mystery fifth man to a rather lacklustre crowd reaction
because everyone wanted it to be Nicholas. The ten men had a fun match, where the audience
were super into Braun and…just Braun actually. But as a neat bit of heel comeuppance, Bo
Dallas and Curtis Axel left Mi to get powerslammed by Strowman for the loss in his big Raw finale. A decent and fun ‘Shake-Up’ episode of
Raw, but this is the the second week in a row that’s failed to follow up on WrestleMania’s
storyline momentum. Nevertheless, this Raw is Cor. Click the videos now to watch the latest WrestleTalk

  1. Like him or not, Jinder is improving little by little. It's like every time he competes he adds something different to his offense, or something looks better. His promos are still blah, but those improving also. I'm still no Jinder fan, but I give him more credibility as a wrestler now than I did before. I blame his booking, haha!

  2. YOU GET THE BEEEEEEST OF BOTH BRANDS!
CHILL IT OUT TAKE IT SLOW, THE YOU ROCK OUT THE SHOW😂😂💥

  3. Smashing good show there Oil but who in the blue hell is Finn Bluer?..Is he a new Raw star we don't know about? Lol

  4. I feel like Drew McIntyre's redebut could've been done better. I have an idea of what should've happened, but it would prolong Jeff Hardy from winning his first ever United States championship. I'll explain the scenario.

Jinder Mahal comes out, complains to Kurt Angle just like before. Kurt Angle tells him he's having a match right now. After a few minutes, wondering who is the mysterious opponent….Drew's theme plays. He comes out with a big pop, everyone is losing their shit. Drew McIntyre returns to Monday Night Raw to fight his former tag team member of 3MB, Jinder Mahal for the United States championship. Puts on a pretty good match and wins the championship on his first night bsck.

Then later schedule a title match between Drew McIntyre vs Jeff Hardy at the next PPV. I will admit though, the Zig Zag + Claymore combination looked really good.

  5. The authors of pain aka The Bootleg Shield were relatively interesting with Ellering. Now theyre just boring. And can i just say oli, that was clever what you did with the title. FINN BLUER. XD

  6. If the whole plan was to move Jinder and the U.S title to Raw just to drop the title within a week 🤔 makes some sense on why they didn't give it to Rusev on WM34? 🤔

  7. i was laughing so hard when the riot squad debuted, because it took me legitly 3 mins to realize they were the group from smackdown and not absolution. they are so copy and pasted off of each other its saddening. and they had the nerve to let absolution do the same thing to bayley nd sasha later in the night. THE EXACT SAME THING

  8. Last night Monday Night Raw took place live from Hartford Connecticut. I'm mad I couldn't attend it because I live in Bristol Connecticut and couldn't attend it because my school gave us our spring break last week so because it was a school night I couldn't attend this show live and had to watch it on TV.One of my friends got to go see it live which makes me mad because this is now the third or fourth time that I've had to watch an event that took place from Hartford Connecticut at home I've only been to two events that took place in Hartford ever that was 2014 the night after money in the bank when Cena won both belts. Also December 28th 2017 when they came during the holiday tour for the live event.

  9. the better not ruin the sd live women's division by moving lesser known women to the brand, hopefuly they move either bayely or Sasha banks, this raw was good though

  10. That’s exactly what I thought about wwe pairing Drew with Ziggler! Makes no sense! Ziggler is just gonna make Drew’s career sink!

  11. Legit don’t understand why everyone is upset about Drew McIntyre teaming up with Dolph Ziggler…I think it’s bloody killer 🔥

  12. 3 possible scenarios will happen on SD live! :
1.Jeff Hardy gets drafted to Smackdown
2.Seth Rollins gets drafted to Smackdown
3.Orton takes the midcard title from Jeff back to smackdown after Jeff is done with the maharajobber

  13. Finally Brother Nero is the Champion of the States of America, WONDERFULLLLL…!!!!!!!Sr. Benjamin must be doing the preparation, for a huge Hardy Party. 😀

  14. I think big kass is making a return from his shoulder injury he got against enzo I hope it's as a heel, smackdown needs more and a big man heel would be good

  15. Dont let this distract you from the fact that last night’s Raw had 2 Bobby’s in the main event. Why couldn’t WWE just name him Lashley?

  16. I hate how Roman Reigns keeps complaining. Dude, you got a fucking rematch at Saudi Arabia, you didnt earn and without explanation. Just be happy and shut the fuck up!

  17. Glad to see Drew and Sheamus back on the same brand. They have a lot of history together before their WWE days and are good friends. I look forward to The Bar vs Drew and Dolph.

    Edit: (post-Smackdown)
    Dammit, nevermind. 😒

  18. I did notice that Apollo was back being referenced as Apollo Crews, was mentioned as it, advertised as it and even had a T-shirt.

  19. 4:18 Bluer! Definitely Finn was much more bluer😂😂
Felt for a moment he will be off to smackdown.. Thank god he ain’t though🙏🏻

  20. i wanna see Braun Srowman Vs. Baron Corbin. For Baron was the first to eliminate Braun in the Royal Rumble 2017.
(not counting brock eliminating braun in 2016)
