Vince McMahon DEMANDS Roman Reigns WWE WrestleMania RETURN! | WrestleTalk News Feb. 2019

Hello and welcome to the WrestleTalk MECHA
NEWS, I am Luke Owen. Press the thumbs up and hit that subscribe button harder than
WWE hits the reset button, and help us reach one million subscribers [in a row]. And answer
our question of the day in the comments down below: Who put these video game thingys on
our WrestleRamble set? I don’t even like Sonic the Hedgehog! We’ve got a packed show
of news today – including Becky Lynch’s return to Raw, WrestleMania plans being up
in the air, and Vince McMahon reportedly demanding the return of Roman Reigns. But first! Hulk Hogan was one of the few names to move
from the wrestling ring into the world of movies and do it successfully – if you consider
cinematic flops Suburban Commando and Mr. Nanny successes – which I sure do. But it’s
now being reported by The Hollywood Reporter that Hogan won’t be starring in his next
movie, as the movie will instead be about him. THR are reporting that Netflix are currently
developing a Hogan biopic which will star Chris Hemsworth as The Hulkster. The movie
will be directed by Todd Phillips – not that one he’s Tom Phillips apparently – and will
be produced by Hemsworth and Eric Bischoff along with Bradley Cooper – who is also set
to play Vince McMahon in the long-gestating biopic of the WWE Chairman Is this the start
of the WWE Cinematic Universe?! Although he has become something of a controversial figure
as of late, this movie is set to focus on all of the non-racist stuff like the rise
of Hulkamania and WWF’s Rock N Wrestling. Mike Johnson of PWInsider has added to this
story saying that Netflix “is very high on the project” but notes a script hasn’t
even been written yet – which will be done by Stronger’s John Pollono and Scott Silver
who recently wrote DC’s Joker movie. Johnson reports that once Netflix are happy with the
script they will jump right into production. Thankfully Hemsworth has already been working
on his Hogan-isms, as seen in this clip from Avengers: Infinity War. “You really are
the worst brother” Maybe Hemsworth will grace Raw and Smackdown
with utter beautiful presence – he is so incredibly handsome – and if a new report is to be believed,
he wouldn’t be the only non-wrestler in active talks with the company. Last year it was reported that WWE were interested
in bringing in tennis legend Serena Williams as part of their women’s division. Well
according to Slice Wrestling, who do have a fairly good track record of backstage scoops,
WWE are still in “progressive talks” with Williams with Stephanie McMahon leading the
negotiations. Maybe Serena can give Raw and Smackdown a
much needed ratings boost. Although going by this week, she may not be needed. Coming off the back of Elimination Chamber,
Monday night’s Raw posted one of its best ratings in weeks with an average audience
of 2.7 million viewers – which even tops the Raw after the Royal Rumble – and is the first
time in months that WWE has had over 3 million people watching Raw at least for the first
hour. The show – which featured the main roster debuts of Ricochet, Aleister Black and the
oddly babyface DIY – you still don’t make sense – did however suffer a huge 20% drop-off
of audience going into the third hour – which is one the of the 10 biggest audience drop-offs
in WWE history. But what did you think of the show? Oli Davis called it one of the worst
Raws he’s ever had to review, and it seems to split opinions across the board, with 26%
agreeing it was RAWful and 34% saying it was AvRAWge. Smackdown also received a bump in the ratings
which could be attributed to the rising success of Kofi Kingston and WWE announcing ahead
of time that Daniel Bryan’s Fastlane match would be revealed – and was likely helped
by those NXT debuts from Monday. The show averaged 2.2 million viewers, which is the
best number the show has had since November last year. But what did you think? I gave
the show a SmackTastic, and 64% of you agreed with 24% thinking the show was Smack Bang
in the Middle. But as we’ve heard all week, there are lots
of reports going round that Vince McMahon is panicking about the falling ratings for
both Raw and Smackdown – which are 15 and 13% down year on year respectively. And that
could play into a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider – who is claiming that Becky
Lynch will be returning to Raw this coming Monday and will likely be part of the Ric
Flair birthday celebrations. And it’s seemingly not just the Raw and
Smackdown booking plans that are up in the air, with Dave Meltzer reporting in the latest
Wrestling Observer Newsletter that, “Very little of Mania this year is finalized, which
is unprecedented for this late in the game.” As of now there are only two matches announced
for the second biggest show of the year behind WWE Fastlane Baby, with Seth Rollins challenging
Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship and Charlotte Flair taking on Ronda Rousey
for the Raw Women’s Championship – though that will likely change to a triple threat
with Becky Lynch. And reportedly Daniel Bryan doesn’t have
a WrestleMania opponent decided yet. It had previously been reported by Dave Meltzer that
there were two names being touted for matches – and those two names were are Kevin Owens
and Bray Wyatt – and now Bleacher Report are claiming their sources have told them it will
be Kevin Owens vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at Mania. However there is always
that Kofi Kingston question – who has had a meteoric rise as one of the top babyfaces
on the blue brand in the last couple of weeks. Meltzer notes in the Observer that Bryan vs.
Kofi at Fastlane was not the original plan, but WWE changed their minds and booked the
match based on the crowd reaction at Elimination Chamber and the social media traction his
push got on Twitter. So there is a chance he could be involved in some capacity too. One of the other matches that has reportedly
been discussed is a retirement match for Kurt Angle, which was seemingly teased on Raw with
Kurt picking up losses to Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin – and even teased a retirement
speech a few weeks ago. However a new report from Meltzer says that match is currently
undecided and might not happen now. Someone else without a match is Smackdown
Women’s Champion Asuka – who was shockingly pinned this week by Mandy Rose on TV. While
Asuka vs. Rose for the title is likely going to take place at Fastlane Baby, Asuka doesn’t
have a WrestleMania opponent lined up. Reportedly, Asuka was set to face Lacey Evans for the
Smackdown Women’s Championship, however that match “may not happen” according
to the Wrestling Observer. Meltzer does add though that WWE are “very high” on Evans
at the moment because they think she can be a star outside of WWE as well as in the ring,
and even have her lined up to be part of the top three women in the entire company alongside
Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch when Ronda Rousey leaves after WrestleMania. Another undecided match is what to do with
the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bayley and Sasha Banks. They are set to face Nia
Jax and Tamina at WWE Fastlane Baby, but nothing is reportedly lined up for WrestleMania. Meltzer
has said in the Observer that one idea pitched was a four-way tag match with Bayley and Banks
defending against a team from Raw, a team from Smackdown and a team from NXT but those
talks didn’t get too far, and, “It’s not on the show as of right now.” Maybe the reason plans for Mania are so up
in the air is because WWE have yet to come to terms with a lot of the big names they
like to have on the card. Despite calling up four names from NXT and announcing six
others just a couple of months earlier, WWE are reportedly trying to reach agreements
with Batista and The Undertaker for Maina matches, and have yet to make a decision on
who John Cena will be facing. The original plan was for Cena to face Lars Sullivan – a
feud which would have started just before Royal Rumble – but Sullivan’s anxiety attacks
have kept him from appearing on and that storyline was now fallen through. Cena was also reportedly
set to face Drew McIntyre – with Drew filling in the Lars spot by taking Cena out before
the Rumble – but those plans weren’t followed up with either. And perhaps one of the reasons WWE desperately
wants to book an Undertaker match for Mania now is because The Deadman was announced for
Starrcast Part Deux. Vince was reportedly furious that Undertaker is going to be part
of the show because although Starrcast is not an All Elite Wrestling product – it’s
a Conrad Thompson of Something to Wrestle With event – it is tied to AEW’s Double
or Nothing in Las Vegas. And according to a new report from Dave Meltzer, “Vince wanted
[Undertaker] off Starrcast” but there was no legal way he could have done that. Oli Davis detailed the crazy week for Vince
McMahon in yesterday’s Super News – going over how Vince is panicking about declining
ratings, poor ticket sales, the rise of All Elite Wrestling and his current main roster
being “stale”. It was this panic that led to McMahon deciding last week that he
wanted to hit the reset button once again and bring up Ricochet, Aleister Black, Johnny
Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa to the main roster to put on some good matches. By some accounts,
he did this without consulting with NXT’s Triple H and he was caught off guard by the
call-ups – which is why they didn’t tie into any of the NXT continuity like Gargano
and Ciampa being in a blood feud. And according to a new report, this panicked
Vince McMahon is now set his sights on bringing back one of his biggest stars of the last
few years, Roman Reigns. According to British tabloids The Sun and
The Daily Star, Vince McMahon “demanded” Roman Reigns return to WWE and wrestle at
WrestleMania 35. Reigns hasn’t been on WWE TV since he shockingly announced that he was
battling Leukemia back in October last year, relinquishing the Universal Championship which
was then won by Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel. Both tabloids claim that the signs of Roman
returning include Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley hitting the triple powerbomb
on Braun Strowman at Elimination Chamber – which Vince reportedly instructed the commentators
to make mention of – and the sudden babyface turn for Dean Ambrose. Both The Daily Star
and The Sun claim that the plan is for Roman to team with Ambrose and Strowman to take
on Corbin, McIntyre and Lashley at WrestleMania. Now for our non-UK viewers I do want to point
out that The Sun is a wretched hive of scum and villainy, known for making up any old
nonsense just to sell papers and often inflate stories to make them seem bigger than they
are – and The Daily Star are not much better. Further to this, both tabloids claim the story
was first reported by – but they don’t have the story anywhere on their
website and neither tabloid provides a backlink to the original source. So, normally we would
tell you to chalk this one up as pure random speculation and nonsense, or at the very least
tell you to take it with a pinch of salt. And then Vince McMahon announced via Twitter
that Roman Reigns was going to be coming back to Raw this coming Monday to address his Leukemia
battle. Because exploiting people’s real-life illnesses equals ratings. Couple this with
Becky Lynch reportedly being on the show as well as those NXT call-ups, and WWE are clearly
hopeful for a big rating on Monday night. Many WWE stars have responded to this news
positively, happy to see their locker room leader come back to the company even if it
is just for one night. Triple H tweeted that no one fights harder, Sasha Banks and Natalya
both tweeted a series of emojis, Curtis Axel and Aiden English welcomed back Big Uce, and
Rusev asked for a Spear and Superman Punch. And if you want to stay on top all of all

  1. I watched the first few matches of Honor Rising. Its sad that you mentioned ROH and NJPW with no single word. I think both wrestling leagues have great potential for fantastic wrestling.

  2. We all knew Vince was a massive cunt. Superbly cuntish. Dude needs his ass kicked and his trash show will start to be decent once he rots.

  3. Too sick for WWE but not too sick to be in the new fast and furious spin off movie, hope his illness isn’t kayfabe to gain fans… that would be shameful but I wouldn’t put it past Vince

  4. That is because everyone was turning in in anticipation of Becky lynch. When she wasn’t going to make an appearance, they tuned out

  5. I'm not trying to say the WWE is racist but not even an incline that Kofi would win the title? Or even get a chance at Mania? With all the people cheering for this dude, he won't even get a chance in the big lights. Sad man.

  6. Vince wants to do everything but change the PG rating back to TV14. I can't wait to aew destroys that horrible PG Mickey mouse product

  7. I bet AEW wouldn't force a return, no matter how bad ratings get. An appearance for an update is nice I guess, but WWE would be the only company to "force" someone to wrestle with CANCER!!! At least that I know of. I could really see him flourishing and being booked properly literally anywhere else besides where he is now. Get well soon Jo.

  8. Either Vince has memory problems (well he's senile) and has forgotten Roman has leukemia or he really enjoys torturing wrestlers.

  9. @unohana Retsu That's a very disgusting and ignorant thing to say. You're a soulless piece of shit. It's one thing to not be a "fan" but it's a whole other thing to wish death on someone. You should self-reflect and possibly look into getting a CAT SCAN because no one in their right mind would say such a horrible thing. ABSOLUTELY DEPLORABLE!

  10. Wow, so Vince forced daniel Bryan to retire and now he's asking a cancer man to get off their ass to save his company lol.

  11. I very much doubt this considering Roman is The Rock's family and he really don't won't that kind of bad blood with him or Romans's whole family.

  12. Reigns returning equals it was all a work to get fans to cheer for Roman. I hope this isn’t the case damn I would be done with Dubya Dubya E

  13. Vince really need to just call it quits and realize he doesn’t have it anymore, go focus on the XFL and rest and stay healthy to build it, leave the WWE to HHH 🤦🏽‍♂️ I mean NXT clearly shows he’s got what it takes

  14. The biggest problem in a nutshell is WWE have a stack of talent, and no idea what to do with it, (referring to Seth Rollins segment with Baron Corbin)

  15. Sooo to click bait us you guys report what was reported by them even though you know they are lying? For what? Views? Sad shit I’m disappointed in ya

  16. Wwe needs to fire lars if he cant handle the life then he shouldnt be doing what hes doing period he should just quit and cry at home one day wwe will see it and release him like they should

  17. Wish they would stop talking about the ratings people dont need too watch it live so many places to get it for ftee the next day

  18. Damn vince like undertaker told you in a promo "we all have to be held accountable for our actions"romans sick let him recover. Besides you dont even use his right, its your fault someone stepped up to challenge you and now you have no clue how to win cause you cant win but hhh can though step down.

  19. Vince is out of touch with today’s fans. Triple H needs to take over the company, and make Raw and Smackdown great shows again.

  20. I thought I'd like to see him cast as the Ultimate Warrior if he bulked up but now I think Nicolas Cage would be perfect for Ric Flair in this Hulk Hogan Biopic film!🤣

  21. my wrestlemania 35 card:

    * Revival vs Heavy Machine (raw tag) – Heavy Machine Win
    * Women Battle Royal – Lacey or Ruby Riott Win
    * Cruserweight Match – Buddy Retains
    * Andre Giant Memorial – Lashley or EC3 or other NXT callups Win

    1. Truth vs Joe vs Ali vs Andrade vs Mysterio vs Hardy (us) Ladder Match – Andrade Win
    2. Sasha Bayley vs Rose Deville vs Riott Squad (women tag) – Sasha Bayley Retains
    3. Usos vs Bar vs Shane Miz vs NewDay (SD Tag) – Usos Retain NewDay Split or Heel Turn
    4. Asuka vs Nia (SD Women) – Nia Win
    5. Zayn Owens vs Drew Corbin – Drew Corbin Win
    6. Balor vs Strowman (intercontinental) – Strowman Win
    7. Styles vs Orton – AJ Win
    8. Bryan vs Cena (wwe title) – Bryan Retains
    9. Lesnar vs Rollins (universal) – Brock Retains
    10. Ronda vs Charlotte vs Becky (raw women) – Becky Win

what do you guys think? 🤔

  22. So sense daniel Bryan is going to have a wrestlemania opponent which means koofi is going to lose the fast lane match right and to be honest o would of liked to be surprised by roman coming back instead of knowing but I'm still glad to know he is going to be on raw tomorrow night

  23. I knew once the ROCK posted those film set images with RR, Vince would start smelling blood… I could hear him now
"If he's healthy enough make movies then he's healthy enough to come back to the WWE"

  24. Having Asuka lose killed everything. asuka has pretty much no opponent to face and now it doesn’t even seem to matter since she just randomly lost. She just beat Becky and she seemed unstoppable and they could have road that into WM but now she just lost so her match at WM won’t much.
And imagine her facing Lacey Evans a woman who has only wrestled in the Rumble?!!? That’s embarrassing.

  25. Come on guys DON'T TURN EL FAKADOR HEEL AGAIN. The story is old. Instead turn Ole heel or bring another character. Who's writing this stuff anyway Vince Russo? Love the show by the way. Only Wrestling show news I watch. I love a good story line like everyone else. But don't. I will be watching 🤨

  26. Wrestle talk should go back to the quick n snappy format. This super news they do on a regular basis can’t hold my attention for 12:00…..where have I seen this play out before 🤔🤧

  27. I like Lacey Evans but, I mean she isn't good enough imo to face a champ on the main roster just yet. After all she still hasn't even wrestled on the main brand yet. (No Royal Rumble doesn't count Im talking about Raw Or Smackdown.)

  28. WWE has an amazing roster right now and Vince says things are stale? well here's an idea that literally anyone can do: Take a look at your amazing roster and then decide to let everyone be able to put input into their promo's with scripted garbage.

  29. So puttting nxt stars on raw and smackdown makes rantings better…so that means that nxt is beating both shows. As for 205 live…letting go 2 superstars is not saying much..replace 205 with a woman superstars show and watch the ratings on that one if that would happen. Take care all.

  30. The casting for this Hulk Hogan biopic are AWFUL. It's set not to explore his full life until right now. I ain't watching it.

  31. Lynch is not a draw. Considering SD!'s piss poor ratings with her on top. If Raw pops another big rating, it will be because of Reigns.

  32. Better yet fire Vince Kennedy McMahon Jr. Have that coward Lars Sullivan face Jhoun Cena, Brun vs. Lesner in wrestle mania, retire Mark Callaway after mania taker vs Samoa Joe and Lynch vs Rousey retire Rousey after mania as well as Lesner, Mandy Rose was lucky she got help with her sidekick Sonia De Vile. Please saparate these two De Vile is just embrassing her self, I see her as a single match character. Asuka vs Rose, Rose won with the interfrance with De Vile, boring.

  33. Y’all aren’t reporting news, y’all are reporting “Dave Meltzer News” and jus because he said it, doesn’t means it’s true. This is becoming very sad.

  34. for Some reason i dont believe Roman even had Cancer to be honest. i always thought it was a sick plan to get the crowd behind Roman Reigns which is their biggest star.. now hes forcing someone that has cancer to wrestle quicker than expected? I call bullshit and i think Dean Ambrose knows something. the reason he wants no parts of WWE no more. just look at it playing out. yall all are gonna be behind Roman Reigns now which makes Vince happy!

  35. maybe get rid of the brand split so people do not have to endure the same matches and the same people being pushed for a tittle run

  36. If Roman Reigns is smart he will leave WWE out of retirement and not even worry about wrestling until he is up to a great bill of health to do so

  37. Bold Prediction: Not only is Roman Reigns ready to go, he's coming back to Wrestlemania with the following:

    -Dr Susan Helmrich
    -Gabrielle Grunwald
    -Erin Andrews

(Google who they are….the legitimately punk out even Ronda Rousey hehe)

  38. The weirdest part is Hemsworth portraying Hogan and Bradley as Vince of all actors strange pick feel out of place is this a DC film

  39. please not a owens vs bryan title match at mania, yes owens in good but you cant give a returning superstar a title match out of nowhere thats a slap in the face for all other superstars

  40. This is total bullshit Vince McMahon has not demanded Roman Raigns is returning cause he is in remission & is clear to wrestle again

  41. Love or hate Roman Reigns but he is a money [email protected] for the WWE
Vince is a greedy old F—- all he sees is $$$$$ signs
As far as those that prefer Reigns to stay home
    It’s not best for Business
Every single Roman hater out there are glued to the TV when Reigns is on
Come on now just admit it
The truth shall set you free from your hate

  42. If Roman had leukemia he would not have survived it the second time around.Roman would of looked even sick or sicker. Roman would not of be able to wrestle would be bald loose a lot of weight and hair.Roman would be wearing a wig on his head.Romans hair looks real to me if his wig would fall off or pulled off showing his bald head.If Roman was really bald the only thing Roman let it fall out or shave his head bald.Roman would of been pale and look sicker.Roman would'nt of wrestle anymore.Roman would of look like stone cold the rock triple h,Kurt angle, gallows &Anderson, baron Corbin,Caesaro,Ricochet,Tommasso Ciampa one half of the vavillians they would of be all really sick by now They would of not been able to wrestle to much today at all they all would sicker or dead by now. Most of them shaved there heads while wrestling because the lights above around them most of them sweats drown there heads with bottles of water a lot there hair are wet.Larie Blake looks like Tommaso Ciampa.💖
